Participant Eligibility

1) Must be a primary account holder of an active residential San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) electric and/or natural gas account. 2) Only participants who have been living (and currently are living) at the home address of the associated SDG&E account for at least 1 year and therefore have at least 1 year’s worth of electricity and/or natural gas data, are eligible to win the reward. Home address must be the primary location of residence. 3) Participants with less than 1 year’s worth of electricity and/or natural gas data are still eligible to participate in the challenge, but will not be eligible to win the reward.

Individual Goal

Reduce carbon emissions stemming from your home energy use (electricity AND natural gas) by at least 15% (as compared to your carbon emissions from home energy use from January 1 - June 30, 2020).

Collective Goal

Achieve a total of 12,000 pounds of CO2 emission reductions as a collective group. This is the equivalent of over 600 gallons of gasoline from being consumed.

Reward(s)

The first place top energy saver will win a $200 REI gift card, second place will win a $100 Earth Hero gift card, and third place will win a $50 Package Free Shop gift card.
